Wildwood Crest

A great place to vacation and a greater place to live, Wildwood Crest is one of three
communities collectively known as the Wildwoods that draw thousands of beach lovers to
the Jersey Coast each year. With a year­-round population of just over 3,200, the
community along with Wildwood and North Wildwood epitomize the best of great family
vacations at the shore. Residents of this oceanfront community are decidedly upscale,
with more than 85% of them employed in white­-collar jobs, well above the nation’s
average. Residents are also better educated than much of the country, with a larger
percentage holding college degrees than the national average, and tend to earn upper
middle class incomes. As for homes found in the community, about 40 percent are single­
family detached, with townhomes and condominiums available in both low-­rise and high­
rise properties. Median home price on the island is $386,000 with about three-­fourths of
housing priced from the upper $200s to upper $600s. Bargain hunters can still find a
relatively good selection of condos under $100K, however, or spend up to $4 million for
luxury estates. Some vacant lots are still available as well.

Top attractions found in Wildwood Crest include the Ocean Oasis Waterpark, owned by
the same company behind the nearby Raging Waters Waterpark, Morey’s Amusement
Park and other seaside attractions in the three communities. Other attractions include a
number of boat tours to watch dolphins, fishing charters, parasailing and many other
outdoor recreation opportunities. A family favorite, Dark Star Pirate Cruises provides a
unique adventure on a pirate themed cruise looking for sunken treasure. Great shopping
and some of the region’s top restaurants are also to be found in Wildwood Crest and
neighboring communities. For those wanting big city diversions, Philadelphia is about a
90­minute drive with the casinos and entertainment of Atlantic City about 50 minutes
away. Nearby Cape May offers a variety of attractions that include historic sites, wildlife
refuges and championship golf.
