Less than six miles from Atlantic City, Brigantine is also a world apart from its glittery, commercial neighbor just over Absecon Inlet. Primarily a residential community taking up the entirety of the island on which it sets, the community has fewer than 10,000 permanent residents, over 90 percent of those that work holding down white-collar jobs. While the community offers a variety of housing options, single-family detached homes make up just over 50 percent of the market with town-homes, condos and apartments making up most of the rest. While many of the condo properties in the city are large, there are few high-rise properties like those found in Atlantic City. A relatively good selection of town-homes and condominiums can be found under $100K and generally top out in the upper $800s. Single-family detached homes start in the low $100s with no shortage of homes that fall within the $1-3 million range on the other end of the spectrum. Median home price in the community is in the mid $300s.
Philadelphia and its array of galleries, historic sites, shopping, dining and other attractions is just over an hour’s drive away while all that New York has to offer is just over two hours distant. There’s also plenty to keep residents and the thousands of vacationers that come each on the island as well. The city takes pride in offering its residents and vacationers one of the best beaches in America. There’s also the Brigantine Lighthouse, a national wildlife refuge, and the historic The Brigantine Hotel. Town government also offers a great municipal golf course, The Links at Brigantine Beach, one of the oldest and most historic courses in the Atlantic City area. Billed as the state’s only Scottish Links Golf Course, it’s been ranked by a number of publications as not only one of the best courses in the state but also one the best golfing values. For boaters, there are two full-service marinas on the island and a seemingly endless number of waterways to explore. And just across the bridge separating the community is Atlantic City with its world-class casinos, restaurants, shops and amusements.
